Welcome to the Library's research guide for SPE 103: Effective Speech!

What are we doing? After working through the material in this workshop and guide, students in SPE 103 sections with Jason Fliess will be able to:

  1. Identify information resources to support ideas in speeches
  2. Apply search filters in general databases in order to narrow searches to relevant resources
  3. Give credit to the original ideas of others through proper attribution and citation

After our library workshop on June 24, this guide will continue to be available for the remainder of the Summer 2025 semester. Use it to locate topics and resources for your SPE 103 speeches. Let's get started!
