The Oakton Library may have a copy of your textbook on Course Reserves

  • Reserve textbooks are available for 2 hours of In-Library use (they cannot be checked out for longer or taken home)
  • Textbooks for courses that have 3 or more sections, cost over $75, and more may be available

Check the Library Catalog or I-Share to for copies of textbooks that may be available to check out for the semester. 

  • Use your Oakton NetID and Password to place requests
  • Check for older editions that may be available

Other ways to search for your required book:

Search Current Courses 

  • Search by term, class, instructor, or campus where your class is taught
  • Select the class and section and click on the "View Book Information" link 
  • If the book is available at the bookstore, the author(s), title, edition, publication date, ISBN, and price will be available

If DDA is listed next to your course that means there is a Direct Digital Access required ebook for the class

  • Instructors provide instructions on how to access your DDA ebook
  • The DDA ebook fee is added to your tuition and fees
  • Students can opt-out of the DDA ebook and fee by emailing
