LinkedIn Learning is an easy-to-use online training platform with 20,000+ expert-led video courses in Business, Technology, and Creative fields, free for the Oakton community. Think of it as an on-demand library designed to help you build skills.

Now that you know what LinkedIn Learning is, let’s look at why it can be such a valuable resource.

Accessing LinkedIn Learning

Oakton students, faculty, and staff can log in with SSO. After signing in, you are ready to start learning! New users will be prompted to complete their profiles before continuing, but this can be skipped and completed at a later time. 

New users: 

  1. Go to myOakton and search for the LinkedIn Learning (LIL) card or use this direct link 
  2. Enter your Oakton credentials
  3. When prompted, select whether you are a student or faculty/staff user
  4. Complete your profile setup (or skip for now)
  5. You’re in—start browsing courses!

Existing users:

  1. Go to My Oakton and search for the LinkedIn Learning (LIL) card
  2. Click the link and enter your Oakton credentials
  3. Your learning history and saved courses will be waiting for you

Connect Your Personal LinkedIn Account (Optional): 

  • After logging in, select the Me profile icon in the top right corner
  • Click Settings from the drop-down menu
  • Scroll down and choose Connect my account
  • This links your Oakton access to your personal LinkedIn profile so you can display completed courses and certificates
