EGL 101 - David Jakalski - Summer2024

Welcome!

Hello everyone and welcome to the research guide for EGL 101 with Prof. Jakalski. This guide will help you select a topic for your essay, find sources to support your arguments with evidence, and provide tools to assist you in creating citations for those sources. If you have questions along the way, you can always chat with us through Ask a Librarian, or make an appointment for a one on one research consultation with a librarian. You can also contact Prof. Sanderson, the librarian instructor for this class section, via email for assistance.

Getting Your Oakton ID/Owl Card

Here's how to get your Oakton Library/Student ID card, which must be updated each semester:

To apply for a digital library card/Owl ID, please fill out and submit our Library Card Request Form. Students must be registered for classes in a current or future semester to apply. We will send you a digital copy of your library card within 4 business days to you via email. You can show your digital card at the library to get a physical card. If you are able to go to campus, the library is now open for limited hours at both campuses and you can get your card there as well.

Ask a Librarian

If you need immediate help, you can reach out to the reference librarians through the Ask a Librarian chat. You can access that function from 8am to 9pm Monday through Thursday, Fridays from 8am to 4pm, and Saturdays 9am to 3pm.

During "Ask a Librarian" Hours, you can use this chat to access help from this page.
