Your Argumentative Essay Assignment requires:

You must use a minimum of 5 sources in this essay assignment:

• Sources must be credible. We’ll talk more about this in class.
• 1 source can be the song that you are working with. This is called a primary source.
• 1 source must be related to the counterargument that you are addressing. In other words, 1 source must be in disagreement with your claim!
• Sources should be varied. If all your sources are from the same author or the same publication, then they are not varied.

Search Terms?

The words you use for your search can affect the results of your search.

Broad Search Terms - big concept terms. 

• Music and Protest are words you could use to start searching with broad terms.

Narrower terms to search could be

• Music Genre - such as Hip Hop, Rock, Funk, Country, Reggae
• Musician or Artist's Name
• Song Name
• Album Title

Think about  what you want to research and experiment with search terms to see what brings back the sources that are the best fit for your topic.
