OATSS Advising OnDemand Module

The Advising OnDemand Module was created by the Office of Advising, Transitions, and Student Success (OATSS) to provide students with resources typically shared by an academic advisor during a traditional classroom visit. Offer your students an opportunity to purposefully engage early, alongside their learning!

The module requires less than 30 minutes to complete and includes a short 4 question assessment. We strongly recommend that you incentivize completion of this short module by utilizing the completion certificate to award extra credit points to your students.

Below are the learning objectives:

  • Recognize OATSS academic and transfer advising services and programs
  • Understand core academic advising principles important for student success - pathways, Pre-majors and education planning
  • Follow steps to scheduling a virtual academic advising appointment with their assigned academic advisor
  • Identify and access academic and transfer advising resources - uAchieve, transferology, educational planning worksheets, Advising Services website, and transfer guides

We strongly recommend that you incentivize completion of this short module by utilizing the completion certificate to award extra credit points to your students.

Please complete the Advising OnDemand Request Form to inform us of how you intend to utilize the module. Once your submission is received, look out for follow-up communication that includes:

  • A student facing PDF infographic on Advising OnDemand, includes the Advising onDemand module link. This document can be shared directly with your students.
  • Our recommendations for incentivizing the module to increase student participation

We are pleased to be able to offer a virtual alternative to our traditional classroom visits and look forward to providing the same high-quality support during this unique time.
